Message from the Exalted Ruler
The heart of ELKDOM keeps on growing! I see a lot of changes and new faces, lots of laughs and great Friday nights with DJ Ditchy.
A very special thank you to all Elk brothers and sisters who have continued to volunteer their help in the kitchen. We could not have continued our Friday night meals without this help. Great Job!
Don't forget….Saturday May 5th starting at 5pm, the Lodge will be celebrating "Cinco de Mayo" night!! We will have Southwest cuisine prepared by chef Steve Putman, viewing of the Kentucky Derby and FUN with all the Casino games! So please stop down and enjoy the night's festivities.
The Lodge will be hosting our annual Mother’s Day Breakfast on Sunday, May 13th. We hope to have a great turnout and see many "Moms". If you would like to volunteer to help out please see Lecturing Knight Val Testani or leave your name and number with the bartenders.
The annual Ron Ewart "Big Time" Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 26th at the Waddington Twin Brooks Golf Course. The sign up sheet is at the Lodge and is limited to the first 25 teams...so don't wait. Dinner and awards will follow at the Lodge. So stop in and have some fun, you don’t have to golf to have a great time! Help with all parts of the event will be needed, anyone who would like to volunteer please contact PER Joe Spriggs.
Monday May 28th is Memorial Day, so please take a take a moment out of your daily schedule to personally "THANK" a veteran for his or her service. Without their selfless sacrifice and service we would not enjoy the many freedoms we enjoy every day!! Please, take a moment to thank these special men and women.
The annual Clam Bake was held on April 21st at the Lodge and was a great success. A great time was had by all, and I would personally like to thank PER Joe Spriggs and all the volunteers who helped make this a very memorable time.
The Lodge is still taking applications for the position of Kitchen Cook. If anyone is interested, please contact the Lodge at 393-5430.
The Queen of Hearts is growing! So stop in, see the bartender, have a cold drink and get some tickets. Remember, you can't win it if you are not in it!!
The House Committee is always looking for volunteers to help out in the kitchen or the dining room during events. If you would like to be contacted from time to time, when help is needed, please leave your name and contact number at the bar or with any House Committee member.
Fraternally,
Kevin Madill
