Message from the Exalted Ruler

Lodge 772It was an honor for Leading Knight, Ted McDonald and I to be able to represent our Lodge at the Spring Convention in Rye Brook, New York in May. Thanks to the Lodge for giving us this opportunity. PER Stuart Rishe and PER Jerry Reed joined us on the trip. The meetings we attended were very informative. Our Hospitality Room was hosted by the Watertown Lodge, which provided fine lunches and refreshments for all North Central Members.

Our Lodge was well represented at the State Convention in the area of awards. Lodge Secretary & ENF Chairperson, Jennifer Bell received 1st runner-up in the ENF Chairman's Challenge for NYS Lodges with 301-500 members and 2nd runner-up honors for all Lodges overall in NYS. We received a Participation Award for 2008-2009 in the NYSEA Bulletin Contest and our Lodge was awarded 1st place in the All American Lodge Contest for NYS. To win this award our Lodge has to participate in a large number of activities throughout the year and also have to meet certain criteria expected from the Grand Lodge. There is a great deal of paperwork that is filled out in order to meet the qualifications for the award. The award qualifies our Lodge for the running in the National Contest. I would personally like to thank our Lodge Secretary, PER Jennifer Bell for her countless hours of paperwork. I would also like to thank PER Stuart Rishe and all his Officers and Committee members for working hard to help our Lodge win this award.

The Drug Awareness booth at the Ogdensburg EXPO was a great success. Thanks to all the volunteers and a special thanks to Helen and Rob Messina, who helped out the entire weekend. Leading Knight, Ted McDonald is the Drug Awareness Chairperson for the Lodge. Thank you for taking the time and all your hard work setting this event up. I also appreciate Elroy showing up! {worn by Rob Messina & Doug Quinn}

We had a great turnout for the 4th Annual Ron Ewart Golf Tournament. Special thanks to Sandy and the volunteers for the great display of food for the golfers and their guest. On behalf of the golf committee we would like to thank all the volunteers who assisted at the golf course, we couldn’t have done it without your help.

On Tuesday, June 2nd, Initiation of New Members will be held. Indoctrination will begin at 5pm, cocktails at 5:30pm, dinner at 6pm with the meeting immediately following.

The Flag Day Parade will be held on June 13th. The parade will begin at 10am and the ceremony is immediately following at the Lodge.

The Fort La Presentation Association will be hosting a Roast Pork Dinner Fundraiser for Founders Day at our Lodge on June 18th from 4:30pm-8pm. Dinner includes: pork, mashed potatoes & gravy, dressing, green beans, and a roll. The price is $8.00 per dinner.

A work party is scheduled for June 20th, beginning at 9am. Please let me know if you can help out.

Fraternally Yours,

John Bresett
