2009 - 2010 Scholarships
The 2010-2011 Elks Scholarships are available in the following areas and are due on or before November 2, 2009.
- The Elks Most Valuable Student Contest is open to all students and applications are available online or at the Lodge
- The New York State Elks Association Award is open to children and grandchildren of Elk members in good standing. Applications are available at the Lodge.
- The Elks Legacy Award is open to children and grandchildren of Elk members in good standing. The application is online only and is due on or before January 8, 2010.

The application process and deadlines vary for each of the programs. All applications must go through a local Elks Lodge before reaching the Elks National Foundation office. Most Valuable Student Award

The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to
the highest-rated applicants in the 2009 competition.
- Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is
eligible to apply.
- Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks.
- College students are not eligible to apply.
- Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their
applications are signed; resident alien status does not qualify.
- Male and female students compete separately.
Legacy Awards

Starting in 2009, Legacy Awards will be four-year, $4,000 scholarships. The Foundation will offer a total of up to 250 awards. Any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal
ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2006,
or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April
1, 2006, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member
through March 31, 2009. Great-grandchildren are not eligible.
Emergency Educational Grants

The Emergency Educational Grant program provides financial assistance
to children of deceased or totally disabled Elks, who wish to obtain
or further their college education.
Grant amounts are based on the information submitted in the
application and can range up to $4,000. The grant is for one year
only; however, the student may submit up to three annual renewal
applications for succeeding years as long as he or she meets all other
eligibility requirements. The applicant cannot accept more than one
ENF scholarship/grant in any one academic year. |
