2011 - 2012 Scholarships
The 2011-2012 Elks Scholarships are available!
NYSEA Scholarship Awards ($1,000 scholarships) is open to any high school senior who is a child or stepchild of a living or deceased Elks member. This application is the exact same application as the Most Valuable Student application with the addition of the NYSEA cover page. This will be available at the Lodge once it is posted online on the nyselks.org website. It will also be available for download in September. Applications are due to the Lodge on or before 12/2/11.
Also, Dick Vanyo, PSVP will be hosting a scholarship workshop for students applying for the Elks Scholarships & Grants during the OFA Career Fair on 10/5/11 from 9:00-11:30am. For more information on any of the above, please contact Jennifer Neaton at 854-1627.
The application process and deadlines vary for each of the programs. All applications must go through a local Elks Lodge before reaching the Elks National Foundation office. Contact your high school counselor for more information or your local Elks Lodge. Full information is available at www.elks.org!
Most Valuable Student Award

The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to
the highest-rated applicants in the competition. The four year awards range from $4,000 to $60,000.
- Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is
eligible to apply.
- Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks.
- College students are not eligible to apply.
- Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their
applications are signed; resident alien status does not qualify.
- Male and female students compete separately.
Legacy Awards

The Legacy Awards will be four-year, $4,000 scholarships. The Foundation will offer a total of up to 250 awards. Any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal
ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2009,
or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April
1, 2009, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member
through March 31, 2009. Great-grandchildren are not eligible.
Emergency Educational Grants

The Emergency Educational Grant program provides financial assistance
to children of deceased or totally disabled Elks, who wish to obtain
or further their college education.
Grant amounts are based on the information submitted in the
application and can range up to $4,000. The grant is for one year
only; however, the student may submit up to three annual renewal
applications for succeeding years as long as he or she meets all other
eligibility requirements. The applicant cannot accept more than one
ENF scholarship/grant in any one academic year. |
